What we are aiming for

We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, need larger text, or prefer reduced motion.

We build against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our target. We are not claiming full conformance — we have not had the site independently audited, and it would be dishonest to say otherwise. What we can tell you is what we have actually done and what we know still needs work.

What we have done

• Colour contrast. Body text and headings are checked against their backgrounds. Our rose brand colour fails contrast against white, so we never use white text on it — buttons use dark ink text instead, and small rose text uses a deeper shade.
• Keyboard navigation. Links, buttons, form fields and the FAQ accordions can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and focused elements show a visible outline.
• Images. Meaningful images carry descriptive alt text. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology rather than announced.
• Structure. Pages use real headings in order, real lists and real tables, so a screen reader can navigate by structure instead of guessing.
• Reduced motion. The few transitions on the site are disabled when your device requests reduced motion.
• Text and zoom. Type is set in relative units so it scales with your browser settings, and layouts reflow rather than scrolling sideways.
• No dark patterns. No countdown timers, no flashing elements, no pop-ups that are hard to dismiss.

Where we know we fall short

Being straight about this is more useful than a blanket claim:

• Parts of the checkout and cart are provided by Shopify and third-party apps. We do not control their markup and cannot guarantee their accessibility.
• Our order tracking hands you over to an external carrier tracking service, which we also do not control.
• The site has not been tested with every combination of screen reader and browser.
• Some older content may not yet meet the standard we build to now.

If something does not work for you

Please tell us. A specific report is genuinely useful and we will fix what we can.

Email support@ounora.com with the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using. We reply within 24 hours on business days.

If a part of the site is blocking you from ordering, email or call us and we will take the order or answer the question directly. You should not lose out because a page did not work.

Ongoing work

Accessibility is not a box we tick once. We review it when we build new pages, and we treat a reported barrier as a bug rather than a suggestion.
