The Aligned — Cervical Cooling Memory Foam Pillow
You reach for your neck before you reach for the alarm. A flat pillow leaves a gap under the curve of your neck, and your muscles spend all night quietly holding your head up to close it.

Dished centre. Your head settles down into it instead of being tipped forward.
Raised cervical ridge. Fills the gap under your neck so your muscles don't hold it.
Winged sides. Taller edges for side sleeping, so your neck stays level with your spine.
Two heights. Flip it to change the loft — no tools, no fill to remove.
A flat pillow asks your neck to hold the gap all night.
Your neck has a natural forward curve. A flat rectangle cannot fill it, so the muscles around it stay lightly engaged until morning. A contoured pillow works by taking that job away from them — the shape holds the position instead.
There's a gap under your neck
Lie flat on a normal pillow and the back of your head takes all the weight, leaving an empty space under the curve of your neck. Something has to hold it there.
So your muscles do it
For seven or eight hours, quietly, while you think you're resting. That is why the stiffness is worst in the first ten minutes after you get up.
Rolling over makes it worse
On your side you need noticeably more height than on your back — a flat pillow gives you the same amount either way, so your head drops toward the mattress.
Support isn't about firmness. It's about shape.
Every curve does a job.
Your head sits down, not forward.
The middle of the pillow is dished, so the back of your head settles into it rather than being propped up. That single change stops your chin being pushed toward your chest, which is the position most people wake up sore from.
- Dished hollow for the skull
- Raised ridge fills the neck gap
- Keeps the head from tipping forward
Taller on the sides, on purpose.
The distance from your ear to your shoulder is much greater than from the back of your head to the mattress. So the sides of this pillow are built noticeably higher than the centre — roll over and you land on a surface that already matches the gap.
- Higher edges for side sleeping
- Neck stays level with the spine
- No arm wedged under the pillow
Room for your shoulder.
Two scooped cut-outs along the bottom edge let your shoulder tuck right up under the pillow instead of pushing it away from your neck. Flip the whole thing over and you get a second, different height.
- Shoulder cut-outs on the lower edge
- Two sleeping heights — just flip it
- Slow-rebound memory foam
Waking up without reaching for your neck.
The shape does the holding, so your muscles don't have to.

A flat pillow asks your neck to hold the gap.
If you want to choose your own height rather than pick between two fixed ones, look at The Cloud instead — it is adjustable but not contoured. This one is shaped.

Contoured pillows feel odd for about a week. Then they don't.
We would rather say that up front than have you give up on night three. Your neck has spent years adapting to a flat pillow, and it takes a little while to stop bracing. Two months is more than enough to know — and if it isn't for you, we'll refund it.
A contoured pillow feels strange at first. Most people adjust inside a fortnight.

The questions people actually ask.
Will this cure my neck pain?
We won't tell you that, and you should be careful of anyone who does. This is a pillow, not a medical device, and we make no claim that it treats or prevents any condition. What it does is mechanical: it fills the gap under your neck so the muscles there aren't holding your head up all night. Plenty of people find that makes a real difference to how they wake up. If you have persistent or severe neck pain, please see a doctor or physiotherapist rather than buying a pillow.
Which way round does it go?
The lower edge with the two scooped cut-outs faces your shoulders, and the raised ridge sits under your neck. The dished hollow in the middle is where the back of your head goes. Flip the whole pillow over for the second, different height.
I'm a side sleeper. Is it high enough?
The wings on each side are built taller than the centre precisely for that, because the gap between your ear and shoulder is much bigger than the gap behind your head. If you have particularly broad shoulders, use the higher of the two sides.
Should I get this or The Cloud?
The Aligned is shaped — it puts your head and neck in a specific position, with two fixed heights to choose from. The Cloud is adjustable — a normal rectangular pillow whose height you set yourself by adding or removing fill. Pick The Aligned if you want the support built into the shape; pick The Cloud if you'd rather dial in your own loft.
Does it sleep hot?
The cover is a breathable textured knit, which helps. But it is a solid moulded memory foam core, and solid foam holds more heat than shredded fill — so if sleeping hot is your main problem rather than neck position, The Cloud is the better choice.
How long does shipping take, and what if I don't like it?
Shipping is free across the US and orders typically arrive within 8–14 days. You then have 60 nights — email us inside that window and we refund the full purchase price, no restocking fee. Return shipping on a change-of-mind return is paid by you; if the item is faulty or wrong, we cover it with a prepaid label.
