Throw to King
  • Cool the second it lands. A conductive face that draws heat off on contact.

  • Diamond quilted. A tight stitch grid so it can't bunch or go lumpy.

  • Two-tone reverse. Colour one side, soft pale grey the other — two seasons.

  • Machine washable. Wash cold, dries fast, keeps its handfeel.

THE HOT-SLEEPER PROBLEM

Most blankets are insulation. That's the whole problem.

A normal blanket is engineered to trap your body heat and hold it against you — which is exactly what you want in winter and exactly what ruins a summer night. A cool-touch fabric does the opposite: it conducts heat away from your skin instead of storing it.

12:20

You flip the pillow. Again.

Everything you touch warms up within a minute of touching it. The pillow, the sheet, the blanket. So you spend the night hunting for a cold patch that keeps disappearing.

2:45

Too hot with it, too bare without

You want the weight of something over you. You just don't want the heat that comes attached to it — so it goes on, comes off, goes on again.

9:00

And the couch one is worse

The throw in the living room is fleece, which was lovely in January and is unusable from May onward.

You're not looking for a thinner blanket. You're looking for one that doesn't warm up.

HOW IT'S BUILT

Built to lose heat, not hold it.

THE FACE

Cool on contact, not after a fan.

The top face is a smooth, densely woven cool-touch fabric. Because it conducts heat away faster than cotton does, the first second under it feels like the cold side of the pillow — and it recovers that feeling every time you move.

  • Silky, high-conductivity face
  • Smooth against bare skin
  • Snag-free and gentle on hair

THE QUILTING

A diamond grid that holds everything still.

Tight diamond-lattice stitching runs across the entire blanket, locking the light filling in place. That is what stops a thin blanket from turning into a bunched, lumpy sheet after three washes.

  • No bunching, no cold gaps
  • Keeps its shape through washing
  • Narrow bound edge that won't fray
THE REVERSE

Two blankets, depending on the season.

Flip it and the pale grey reverse is a softer, slightly warmer hand — which is why this works on the bed through summer and over the arm of a sofa for the rest of the year.

  • Cool face for hot nights
  • Softer grey reverse for cool evenings
  • Reads as a designed throw, not bedding

THE EVIDENCE

Cool to the touch is physics, not marketing.

The sensation is real and it has a plain explanation — but it is a property of the fabric, not a cooling device. It will not lower the temperature of your bedroom.

−1°C

Falling asleep is a cooling process

Core body temperature drops by roughly a degree as you fall asleep, and that heat leaves through your skin. Bedding that holds it against you works against the mechanism your body is relying on.

Conduction

Why some fabrics feel cold

A fabric feels cool because it moves heat off your skin faster than your skin can replace it. Denser, smoother, more conductive fibres do this well; fleece and brushed cotton are built to do the opposite.

Standard textile thermal-contact behaviour

We do not publish a Q-max figure for this blanket because we have not commissioned independent testing on it, and we will not repeat a number measured on somebody else's fabric. The information above describes general sleep physiology and textile behaviour and is not a claim about this product. Ounora products are not medical devices and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or condition.

HONEST COMPARISON

Most summer blankets are just thinner blankets.

Thinness reduces how much heat is trapped. It doesn't make anything feel cool. Those are different problems.

THE 60-NIGHT SLEEP TRIAL

Judge it on the worst night of the summer.

Cool-touch is easy to feel in the first ten seconds and much harder to sustain. Take it through two months of real heat — the humid nights, the ones where the fan just moves warm air around. If it stops feeling cool, send it back.

BEFORE YOU BUY

The questions people actually ask.

Which size should I order?

Throw (39" x 59") is for a sofa or one person's lap, not a bed. Twin (59" x 79") suits one adult. Queen (79" x 91") covers two. King (91" x 91") is square and gives two adults generous overhang on both sides.

How cool does it actually feel?

Noticeably cool for the first several seconds of contact, and it recovers that feeling whenever you shift position. What it will not do is lower the temperature of your room or work like an air conditioner — it is a fabric, and it manages the heat between you and the blanket, nothing more.

Do you publish a Q-max cooling rating?

No. Q-max is a real textile measurement, but we have not commissioned independent testing on this specific blanket, and we are not willing to quote a number measured on a different manufacturer's fabric. If we test it, we will publish the figure and the lab.

Can I use it in winter?

Yes, flipped. The pale grey reverse has a softer, slightly warmer hand, which is why a lot of people keep it on the sofa year round and only sleep under it in summer.

How do I wash it?

Machine wash cold on gentle, tumble dry low or line dry. Skip fabric softener — it coats the fibres and dulls the cool-touch feel, which is the one thing you bought it for.

How long does shipping take, and what if I don't like it?

Shipping is free across the US and orders typically arrive within 8–14 days. You then have 60 nights — email us inside that window and we refund the full purchase price, no restocking fee. Return shipping on a change-of-mind return is paid by you; if the item is faulty or wrong, we cover it with a prepaid label.

Sixty nights of real heat.

If it stops feeling cool, we refund it. That is the whole risk.
